WHAT IS ALABASTER?
Alabaster is a natural translucent stone that comes from the north of Spain. It is similar to Marble but softer. Each piece is carved and polished one by one. It is a very labor-intensive process, but when it is lit, it gives out the most beautiful, soft, natural light. Many retailers sell chandeliers that they call alabaster, but it is actually glass painted like Alabaster. Real alabaster is Stone, not glass!
